The Research Group is composed of a team of scholars from IDIS who systematically engage in the study of the phenomenon of European integration, with particular emphasis on the European Union. Its work examines the political, constitutional, institutional, organisational, economic, and social dimensions of the EU. The Group’s activities are primarily research- and education-oriented, focusing on the analysis of decision-making processes, the functioning of European institutions, EU public policies, and the contemporary challenges facing European integration, including democratic legitimacy, enlargement, economic governance, migration policy, energy security, and the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Through research initiatives, academic publications, conferences, seminars, and working groups, the R.G. seeks to advance knowledge and foster public debate on the role and evolution of the European Union within the contemporary international environment.
