The Research Group’s primary objective is to examine contemporary issues in international politics relating to the United States, the European Union, NATO, and key geopolitical regions, including the Middle East, East Asia, and the Eurasian Union, with a strong emphasis on education and academic training. Its activities encompass a broad range of topics, from classical strategy, military history, and strategic culture to contemporary issues such as terrorism and environmental security. The Research Group brings together university faculty members, members of the armed forces, postdoctoral researchers, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students and doctoral candidates from various universities. Each year, approximately 60 early-career researchers participate in the Group’s research sub-teams. Their work culminates in the periodic publication of the Research Group Working Papers.
