The Research Group focuses on the study of issues related to international law, human rights, international humanitarian law, and maritime security, with particular emphasis on contemporary international challenges and the institutional framework governing the protection of individuals and security in the maritime environment.  Its activities are primarily educational and research-oriented, covering a broad range of topics, from the Law of the Sea, international conventions, and the protection of human rights to issues concerning armed conflicts, refugee and migration flows, humanitarian crises, maritime strategy, and environmental security.
